Stefan was born on November 16, 2008, in Koper. He is the son of former Slovenian national team player Nebojša Joksimović, who was playing for Hemofarm Vršac at the time of Stefan’s birth. Standing at 202 cm, he plays primarily as a forward. Like his father, he chose to represent Slovenia on the international stage.

CLUB CAREER
Stefan Joksimović grew up in Ljubljana, where he played in the youth ranks of Ilirija. In 2023, he transferred to Spanish club Baskonia, where he currently plays. In the Spanish ACB League, he holds domestic player status. He is also the third-youngest debutant in Baskonia’s history.

BACKGROUND
The Joksimovic name is well known among basketball fans in the Balkans. Stefan’s father, Nebojša Joksimović, spent four years playing for Hemofarm Vršac, where he was one of the team’s key players. Throughout his career, he also played for Olimpija Ljubljana, Igokea, Cibona, Koper, Pivovarna Laško, Krka, Lokomotiv Kuban, Pesaro, and Primorska, where he retired.
Nebojša has Serbian roots and holds both Slovenian and Serbian citizenship.

He represented Slovenia at three European Championships (2005, 2013, and 2015) and also took part in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in 2008.
NATIONAL TEAM
Following in his father’s footsteps, Stefan chose to represent Slovenia at the international level.
He impressed at the U18 EuroBasket 2025 in Belgrade, averaging 13.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game, helping Slovenia finish sixth overall in the tournament. Stefan made his senior national team debut at the age of 17.

He made his debut for Slovenia’s senior team in the first game of the 2027 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers against Estonia. Slovenia lost that game 93–94 after overtime, while Joksimovic recorded 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists in almost 22 minutes on the court.
