UEFA ranking of football leagues, i.e. The UEFA club coefficient rankings represents the official standings of national European football leagues and is authoritative when determining the number of participants from national leagues in elite European club competitions: UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League.
The UEFA club coefficient rankings also determines the number of clubs that one league enters into a certain European competition, as well as how many clubs enter the group stage directly, and how many of them start the competition from the qualifiers. The UEFA coefficients from one season determine how many teams will play in European cups two seasons later (eg the coefficients for the 2021-22 season determine the number of clubs a league provides for the 2023-24 season).
The UEFA coefficient is calculated according to the performance of clubs from one league in European competitions in the previous five seasons. Two points are awarded for each win, and one point for each draw (for qualifying matches, the value of the points is twice as low).
The place of a certain club in the draw for one of the European competitions is determined on the basis of a separate UEFA ranking list of clubs
