Top 10 scorers in the history of the Serbian national basketball team

Bogdan Bogdanovic celebrates after scoring for the Serbian national basketball team

Many legendary players have worn the Serbian national team jersey, and being among its all-time top scorers is an honor in itself. In this article, we take a look at the ten highest scorers in the history of the national team, focusing on the period from 1995 onward — when Serbia first appeared in a major tournament following the breakup of Yugoslavia. Points scored in friendly games are not included in this statistic.

10. PREDRAG STOJAKOVIC (474 POINTS)

We all know how reliable a scorer Peja Stojaković was. Unfortunately, he played only 29 games for the national team in major tournaments and surely would have had a much higher total had he not retired after EuroBasket 2003. When it comes to average points per game, Peja ranks second on this list with an impressive 16.3 points per game.

9. DEJAN TOMASEVIC (502 POINTS)

Tomašević reached 502 points in 71 games — an average of just 7.1 points per game — but his consistent presence in major tournaments from 1995 to 2005 earned him a well-deserved place on this list.

8. MIROSLAV RADULJICA (627 POINTS)

One of coach Aleksandar Đorđević’s key players, often underrated, but the numbers speak for themselves. With 627 points in 58 games and an average of 10.8 points per game, Raduljica ranks eighth on our list.

7. PREDRAG DANILOVIC (640 POINTS)

Saša Danilović recorded an impressive 640 points while playing in only five major tournaments for Serbia. In 43 games, he averaged 14.9 points per game.

6. NIKOLA JOKIC (666 POINTS)

Despite facing public criticism for skipping several major tournaments, Nikola Jokić has been a true leader whenever he suited up for Serbia. In just 40 games, he has scored 666 points so far — the highest average on this list, with 16.7 points per game.

5. NEMANJA BJELICA (692 POINTS)

“The Professor” played for the national team for ten years, appearing in 84 games and scoring a total of 692 points — averaging 8.2 points per game.

4. NENAD KRSTIC (933 POINTS)

The legendary captain who led the team during its return to international success. He often played through injuries and, over ten years with the national team, appeared in 77 games and scored 933 points — an average of 12.1 points per game.

3. DEJAN BODIROGA (1,023 POINTS)

“White Magic” played for the national team for ten years, appearing in 85 games and scoring 1,023 points — exactly 12 points per game on average. A true legend.

2. MILOS TEODOSIC (1,057 POINTS)

The man who made watching the national team enjoyable again. Since his debut in 2007, Teodosić has played 94 games — the most in history — and scored 1,057 points, averaging 11.2 per game. His total would likely be even higher if not for the conflict with coach Pešić that led to the end of his national team career.

1. BOGDAN BOGDANOVIC (1,130 POINTS)

As the true successor to Miloš Teodosic as captain, Bogdanovic also succeeded him atop the all-time scoring list. From 2013 to today, he has played 76 games in major tournaments, scoring 1,130 points — an average of 14.9 per game — making him the top scorer in the history of the Serbian national basketball team.
