Unlike FC Barcelona in football, where only one Serbian player has ever appeared in the club’s history, the story in basketball is completely different. Serbian players and coaches have made an immense contribution to Barcelona’s history, helping the team win numerous trophies. Below is a list of all Serbian basketball players who have played for Barcelona:

Zoran Savic

The powerful center played for Barcelona in two separate periods. His first stint was from 1991 to 1993, during which he didn’t win any trophies. He corrected that in his second tenure in the 2000-2001 season, winning both the ACB League and the Copa del Rey.

Aleksandar Djordjevic

Sale Nacionale” built a legendary status at the club while playing for Barcelona from 1996 to 1999. He helped the team win the Korac Cup in 1999 and also secured two ACB League titles in 1997 and 1999.

Milan Gurovic

An important part of the championship-winning team alongside Djordjevic from 1998 to 2000. Gurovic also won the Korac Cup (1999) and the Spanish ACB League in the same season.

Dejan Bodiroga

In the summer of 2002, Svetislav Pesic became Barcelona’s coach after leading Yugoslavia to the World Championship that year. One of his key players was Dejan Bodiroga, who continued his collaboration with Pesic at Barcelona. Despite being a former player of rival Real Madrid, “Bodi Bond” quickly became a fan favorite, winning trophies in return. During his stay from 2002 to 2005, he helped the team win its first EuroLeague title in 2003 and was named Final Four MVP. He also won two ACB League titles (2003, 2004), the Spanish Cup (2003), and the Spanish Supercup (2004).

Milos Vujanic

One of Europe’s top guards, Vujanic joined Barcelona in 2005 with high expectations. However, a previous ACL injury he had sustained in Bologna reoccurred in Barcelona, limiting him to just 9 games in the 2005-2006 season. He then moved to Panathinaikos, winning the EuroLeague.

Kosta Perovic

After a stint in the NBA and two successful years in Valencia, Kosta Perovic joined Barcelona. From 2010 to 2012, he helped the team win two ACB League titles (2011, 2012), one Copa del Rey (2011), and two Supercups (2010, 2011).

Stefan Peno

Peno showed his talent early in OKK Beograd’s youth categories and moved to Barcelona at just 14. He played for Barcelona’s B team for several seasons and made his ACB League debut for the first team in 2014-15. He debuted in the EuroLeague in 2016 in a win against UNICS and left the club in August 2017 to join ALBA Berlin.
