Duane Washington celebrates the record for most points scored in a single ABA League game

We present the five greatest scoring performances in the history of the regional Adriatic basketball league – ABA. Read until the end to find out which players have scored the most points in a single ABA League game since the league’s founding in 2001.

5. TRENT FRAZIER – 45 POINTS

Fifth on our list is former FMP point guard Trent Frazier. On January 3, 2023, in an away game against Mornar in Bar, he scored 45 points. Frazier played all 40 minutes, shooting 5/9 from two-point range, 8/13 from three, and 11/12 from the free-throw line. He also recorded 9 assists, as FMP secured a 113–102 victory. In the same game, Deron Russell—who will be mentioned later—scored 32 points for Mornar.

4. MILAN GUROVIC – 45 POINTS

The first player in ABA League history to score 45 or more points was the legendary Milan Gurovic. In a loss for Crvena zvezda away against FMP on September 30, 2006, he poured in 45 points. The game was played in the opening round of the season, and after overtime, FMP won 95–94. “Chicha” reached 45 points by shooting 7/12 for two, 4/6 for three, and 19/23 from the free-throw line. He played all 45 minutes and also grabbed seven rebounds, finishing with a total performance index rating of 55.

3. VLADIMIR MIHAILOVIC – 46 POINTS

Gurovic’s record stood for nearly 16 years until it was broken on March 20, 2022, by Montenegrin guard Vladimir Mihailovic. In Mornar’s road win over Mega, he scored 46 points in just under 32 minutes on the court. He shot 7/12 from two, 5/9 from three, and 17/19 from the free-throw line, adding 7 rebounds and 6 assists for an index rating of 50.

2. DERON RUSSELL – 47 POINTS

Mihailovic’s record was surpassed on October 9, 2022, by another Mornar player, Deron Russell. The quick point guard scored 47 points in a 100–91 win over Zadar, playing 35 minutes. He shot 6/13 from two, 7/18 from three, and 14/16 from the free-throw line. Russell later continued his career in Turkey and eventually became a member of the Romanian national team.

1. DUANE WASHINGTON – 48 POINTS

Russell’s record stood for more than three years until it was finally broken on December 23, 2025, by Partizan guard Duane Washington. In an away game against Krka in Round 11 of Group A, Washington scored 48 points and even had a last-second three-point attempt that could have made him the first player in league history with 50 or more points in a single game. Partizan ultimately won 99–92. Washington shot an incredible 10/14 from three-point range, 6/10 from two, and 6/9 from the free-throw line. With 10 made three-pointers, he also tied the ABA League record for most threes made in a single game, a mark he now shares with Teemu Rannikko and Josip Sesar. His performance is even more impressive considering he played just 25 minutes and 49 seconds—significantly less than all other players on this list.
